Workshop: Permaculture & Ecosystem Gardening

£10.00Delve into the fascinating world of ecosystems, explore permaculture and discover the importance and impact of small green actions! This special one day workshop led by SmallWorld Urbanism and special guest Kevin Mascarenhas of Natural Flow. Kevin will introduce green fingered and environmentally minded city dwellers to ‘systems thinking’ and ecosystems versus modern agriculture, ornamental growing techniques and climate change, destructive systems versus regenerative ones.
We will introduce you to some of the tools and techniques of permaculture that you can implement in your back garden. Participants will also gain hands on practical experience potting up a micro permaculture garden for you to take home in a planter. All materials are included.
The day starts at 10am and ends at 4am

10AM START
Morning Session
Introduction to the day and a welcome cup of tea or coffee
What is permaculture?
- Understanding the ethics of permaculture
- Classic soil science
- The principles of permaculture
LUNCH
This will be a community sharing – so bring something made with love to share with your new friends on the day!
Afternoon Session
Designing your own permaculture garden
- Strategies and advice
Practical session
- Potting up your own micropermaculture garden in a take home planter
