Workshop: Islamic Geometric Art

Learn how to create Islamic geometric art with artist Richard Henry. Henry teaches internationally, including at the Princes School of Traditional Arts. Participants will learn how to make folded patterns and reconstruct patterns from Andalucia and Morocco. Lunch and materials provided.
Richard Henry is an artist and lecturer with a specialism in Islamic geometric pattern. He works in painting, print and tile-mosaic and is interested in traditional methods (using compass and straight edge) of pattern construction for artists and craftspeople. He has carried out research in Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Turkey and Iran and has developed a number of courses for British Museum’s World Arts and Artefacts programme. He teaches internationally.
