For the Love of Oud

FreeExplore this wonderful stringed instrument in our family session. Children and parents will be introduced to the rhythms and modes of Arabic music through its sounds, and will create small stringed instruments using recycled material. Led by Rihab Azar.
Rihab is a London based, Syrian oud player. Born into a musical family, she started learning the oud when she was 7 years old. She studied at the Conservatoire of Damascus, and completed an MA in Music Education at IOE-UCL fully sponsored by the Foreign and Common Wealth Office. In 2014 became the first woman oudist to perform accompanied by the Syrian National Orchestra for Arabic Music.
Suitable for children aged 4+
All children must be accompanied by parents/carers throughout the session.
