Jad El Hage

The Mosaic Rooms are delighted to celebrate the publication of Lebanese author Jad El Hage’s new book One Day in April, published by Quartet Books. This novel is a rich portrait of Lebanon’s cultural elite, and completes Jad El Hage’s informal civil war trilogy and confirms the author’s position as one of Lebanon’s finest contemporary writers.

Jad el Hage was born in Beirut in 1946. He’s a poet, novelist and playwright, and published his first creative works in newspapers in 1966. He’s worked as a journalist since he was sixteen, and also a book editor and radio broadcaster in Beirut, Paris (Radio Monte Carlo), Athens (Harlequin Arab World), London (BBC World Service) and Sydney. His published works include in Arabic, one novel, seven collections of poetry and one of short stories, one play for radio and four for theatre. He has two other novels in English – The Last Migration (Panache Publications) and The Myrtle Tree (Banipal Books).

Jad will be introduced by Jihad el Khazen. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signings by the author.
