Serotonin by Shehab Satti

Sofa Cinema

21/03/2022/03/20

Join The Mosaic Rooms for our first sofa cinema event, a premiere of the short film Serotonin by director Shehab Satti. The film is being screened on our Vimeo channel this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. See below for how to see the film.

Serotonin explores themes including solitude and memory, through the eyes of the main character as he goes about his daily life in Khartoum. It is a beautifully shot, visually rich and poetic, dreamlike piece of cinema. Satti won the Sudan Independent Film Festival in 2018 with the Black Elephant Award as the best film.

This will be followed by a live Q&A with the film’s director on Wednesday 25 March at 1pm – sign up to the event on our website for details.

The film was screened in the official selection of Luxor Film Festival in 2019 and the Arabic Film Festival and Savvy Contemporary in Germany.

Written, directed and produced by Shehab Satti.

Sudan | 2018 | 29 min | Arabic with English subtitles
