Hervisions presents The Salon of Disobedience, an evening of collective debate and exchange focusing on peripheral voices and fostering the spirit of rebellion.

Participants are encouraged to bring along digital ephemera, such as voice notes, screenshots and memes from their own personal digital archives. Together with artist Nouf Alhimiary, these materials will be shared in the performative and participatory workshop, interrogating intimacy and disclosure as algorithmic events. Virtual reality headsets for imagined intimacy will be provided to those who wish to take up discussion providing us with the cloak of anonymity we wear in our online lives within the physical environment.

Redefining the traditional salon, these shared encounters will be embraced as moments of disobedience denying and expanding our commonly understood perceptions of presence and absence.
