Tools for Solidarity

Workshop for Families

31/05/23 2pm

Free

‘Solidarity’ is a word that is often uttered by adults, but where do the solidarities of young people lie?

Join RESOLVE Collective and use locally foraged materials (e.g. wood, paper, cardboard, fabric) to create personalised, DIY tools for communicating messages of hope, strength, and solidarity.

Exploring, discussing, and reflecting on the issues and injustices that young participants and their families feel strongly about, this workshop will use art, architecture, and design to amplify our voices.

Book your free place using the link below. All ages are welcome; however, the workshop activities may be best suited for children aged 4 – 12. All materials (e.g. wood, paper, cardboard, fabric) will be provided. Please note that all children will need to be accompanied by a guardian at all times.

RESOLVE Collective is an interdisciplinary design collective that combines architecture, engineering, technology and art to address social challenges. They have delivered numerous projects, workshops, publications, and talks in the UK and across Europe, all of which look toward realising just and equitable visions of change in our built environment. They have developed projects, exhibitions and residencies including at Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt, Berlin; London Design Festival in Brixton; They currently have a solo exhibition at Barbican’s Curve Gallery and have presented shows at Serpentine Gallery, Wellcome Collection, CCA Brighton, De La Warr Pavilion, Peckham Platform, S1 Art Space; V&A East.
