FAMILY FUN
29/09/18 2pm
FreeYalla, let’s play! Come and enjoy an afternoon of children’s games, songs and stories with Elias Matar at The Mosaic Rooms. Elias invites families to take part in folk songs, dances, group games and stories, inspired by the backyards of the Levant where children play together. The session will introduce families to traditional games that are still enjoyed today and will connect participants with Arabic heritage and language. The afternoon will be conducted in both Arabic and English. Everyone is welcome to this family session. All abilities, ages and nationalities can have fun and take part in this afternoon of playful adventure.
This workshop is part of The Mosaic Rooms’ Family Fun series, these free monthly sessions take place on the last Saturday of each month. From dance to music to art activities, the sessions give families a hands-on way to enjoy and share the creativity and cultures of countries in the Arab world. They are led by artist Dia Batal in collaboration with creative artists and performers. The workshops are aimed at children aged 4-11 and their families.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please arrive at 2pm to start the session together.
