Jumana Manna — A Small Big Thing is the first solo museum presentation of Jumana Manna in the Nordic region. For the occasion, Manna premieres in Norway the film Wild Relatives, a project that documents the transit of seeds from Svalbard Global Seed Vault to fields of the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. The Syrian revolution turned war denied access to the Aleppo gene bank, obliging them to move to neighboring Lebanon by duplicating heirlooms from the backup copies stored in Longyearbyen. In addition, Manna has produced a series of sculptures to continue her explorations in image, form, and space to challenge our relations to architecture, heritage, and biological awareness.
