Sound Capsule

Spring 2026

The Sound Capsule is a new live radio project transforming The Mosaic Rooms’newly refurbished gallery tower, The Satellite into a space for experimental broadcasts, community storytelling, and sonic solidarity. The project creates a site for listening, transmission, and dialogue.

The programme will feature live radio broadcasts between March and November. This includes conversations, sonic works, community news, readings, DJ sets, recipe sharing, weather reports, and playlists, as well as live performances, works-in-progress presentations, and interviews.

Rooted in the ethos of free, live radio, we will host two interwoven strands, locally, it invites communities in and around Earl’s Court to transmit messages to the world.
Internationally, it connects with artists and collectives, particularly from the Middle East whose sonic works and testimonies will resonate back into the UK.
Sound Capsule aims to also lower barriers to sound-making, enabling youth, emerging artists and underrepresented communities to produce self-directed audio works in The Satellite. It invites audiences to imagine, feel, and connect across geographies—whether present in the gallery tower or tuning in remotely. Ephemeral in nature all broadcasts will be live-only and unrepeated, encouraging improvisation and deep listening.
