PlayLab: Lum’a — Glow Stories
17.02.26
Step into a world where light becomes a language of play, storytelling, and imagination. Inspired by Dia’s beautiful work with Arabic calligraphy and layered poetry, this playful space invites children to explore light as a way to express ideas and feelings—through colour, shadow, gestures, and symbols.
In this workshop, children are encouraged to create their own “light poems” by playing with coloured lights, shadows, and shapes. They’ll layer letters and symbols, use their hands and bodies to cast colourful shadows, and trace the magic they make on paper.
What’s inside
- A poetry station where children arrange words and letters on an overhead projector (OHP) to cast colourful light poems on the wall
- Shadow play with red, green, and blue lights
- Hanging mobiles and wall pieces that project beautiful shapes and symbols
- A cozy fabric den filled with soft materials and shimmering colours—a quiet spot for rest or storytelling
- Drawing materials for children to trace their shadows and shapes on long scrolls of paper
This is a space for curiosity, creativity, and gentle discovery—where children can move, imagine, and make light come alive as their own unique story.
