Afghan Kite Making

Workshop

28/11/21 1pm

Free

RSVP below for this in person event. Tickets are limited, please only book if you are sure to come.

Join Ahmadzia Bakhtyari to make an Afghan kite and fly it. The workshop is co-presented with the London Migration Film Festival.

In Afghanistan, kite fliers of all ages come together to display the beautiful kites they have made and sometimes fly them in competitions. At this family-friendly workshop participants will make and fly an Afghan kite of their own with Ahmadzia Bakthyari.

All materials are included and each attendee will take home their completed kite.

Ahmadzia Bakhtyari is a London-based kite-maker from Kunduz, northern Afghanistan. He was formerly artist in residence at the Horniman Museum.

The London Migration Film Festival is holding the 6th annual edition from 25 Nov – 1 Dec 2021. The festival uses film and other art forms to challenge the narrow rhetoric on migration and in doing so, move towards restoring the humanity of it.
