Workshop for Families
RSVP below for this in person event.
Join Sahra Hersi as she leads her final creative workshop for children and families as our family artist for 2022. This workshop follows the launch of The House of Many Ways, an outdoor play commission located at The Chelsea Theatre, designed by Sahra in collaboration with children and young people at Earl’s Court Youth Club in April 2022. The workshop will include fun activities to explore space and forms of architecture through play.
All materials are included. Suitable for children aged 4+. Children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Sahra Hersi is a designer. She completed a MA architecture degree at the Royal College of Art in 2017. Her practice explores shared spaces, the public realm, community engagement, meaningful contributions, and collaboration. She describes her work as “caring about people, places, art & architecture, in that order.” She seeks to establish a working philosophy that is driven by the desire to reinterpret architectural methodology and artistic narrative as common ground. Her work is often born out of engaging with communities and the places they occupy. Images: 1. Children playing with shapes in The Dancers’ Garden by Alaa Satir, 2021. Photo by Nicola Tree. 2.
