Restless Gestures
Performance
27/07/22 7pm
FreeRSVP below for this in person event.
Join us for a new performance where movement artist Duane Nasis responds to the exhibition Fantasies on a Found Phone, Dedicated to the Man Who Lost it through dance. By evoking performance vocabularies found in ballroom culture and other clandestine queer spaces, the performance physically traverses sleeplessness, anxiety and desire.
Duane Nasis (he/they) is a queer Filipino-British multidisciplinary movement artist based in London. With a movement background rooted in London’s thriving ballroom/voguing culture, Duane has explored a diverse range of practices from physical theatre, clowning and cabaret, to contemporary dance, gymnastics, and even lucha libre wrestling; developing a unique physical vocabulary that has seen them work for a range of clients such as Sadlers Wells, Robyn, and Marvel Studios.
