The Mosaic Rooms

Khudhair Shakirji graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Baghdad, and subsequently joined the Baghdad Modern Art Group, alongside other prominent artists like Shakir Hassan Al Said and Jabra Ibrahim Jabra. Shakirji explored local themes in his work and draw references from traditional and folkloric imagery. He experimented with abstraction, cubism, and expressionism developing a distinguished style that reflected on social realities at the time. Khadeir Al Shakarji passed away in 2006.
