Oral histories workshop
Saturday 2 March 10am – 5pm
Sunday 3 March 11am – 3pm
BAFTA nominated filmmaker Tina Gharavi will lead this weekend workshop, open to anyone from the Yemeni diaspora living in/near London. Participants will be invited to explore the Last of the Dictionary Men exhibition at The Mosaic Rooms and share their own personal, family and collective stories. They will learn to interview and film one another.
The oral histories captured during the weekend will be edited into a new short video work by Bridge + Tunnel, commissioned by The Mosaic Rooms. The video will be screened during the latter weeks of the Last of the Dictionary Men exhibition, adding stories from the London Yemeni community to the voices from South Shields.
If you would like to participate and share your stories please email education@mosaicrooms.org for more information, or call 020 7370 9990
Places are limited: maximum 15 people
The workshop and filming will take place at The Mosaic Rooms. Refreshments will be provided.
