Poetry from Art: Writing the Body

This one-day workshop will encourage participants to use art to create poetry. The workshop will be based in the main exhibition room, where participants will have the gallery space to themselves. Using the current exhibition of paintings and drawings by the artist Lawand for inspiration participants will be given exercises and methods to develop poetic responses to contemporary art.
The workshop is led by award winning poet Pascale Petit. Pascale Petit has published five poetry collections, three have been shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize. She has been Poetry Editor of Poetry London and was a founding tutor of The Poetry School. She was a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the Courtauld Institute of Art, tutor on the Master of Studies in creative writing at Oxford University. She runs courses at Tate Modern, the Arvon Foundation, and Ty Newydd.
