Discover how domestic space became a space of resistance in Iran. Hamed Khosravi presents an overlooked chapter in the history of the International Left in Iran. Khosravi, an architect and researcher, traces the multifaceted life of a couple who founded the Women’s Association and the Association of Iranian Architects. He discusses how they redefined domestic spaces in Tehran as spaces of resistance where class, gender, social, and political conflicts are played out.

Hamed Khosravi is an architect, writer, and educator. His research and projects focus on the history and theory of architecture and urban form, in relation to territorial organisations and political decisions. Khosravi has taught at numerous institutions, including the Architectural Association, Berlage Institute and Oxford Brookes University. His projects have been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Oslo Architecture Triennale and Dallas Museum of Art, amongst others. Hamed’s most recent book, Tehran – Life Within Walls, was published by Hatje Cantz in 2017.
