Join our family artist 2022, Sahra Hersi as she leads a creative workshop for children and families ahead of her upcoming garden play commission. The workshop will include fun activities to explore space and forms of architecture through play. Working with materials including bamboo, paper, and cardboard, participants will have the opportunity to build spaces and structures reflecting their unique imagination.
All materials are included. Suitable for children aged 4+. Children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Sahra Hersi is a designer. She completed a MA architecture degree at the Royal College of Art in 2017. Her practice explores shared spaces, the public realm, community engagement, meaningful contributions, and collaboration. She describes her work as “caring about people, places, art & architecture, in that order.” She seeks to establish a working philosophy that is driven by the desire to reinterpret architectural methodology and artistic narrative as common ground. Her work is often born out of engaging with communities and the places they occupy. Images: 1. Children playing with shapes in The Dancers’ Garden by Alaa Satir, 2021. Photo by Nicola Tree. 2.
