Join artist Sami El-Enany and friends for a performance and workshop diving into collective chants for freedom.

The event opens with a performance featuring first-hand field recordings gathered by Sami on the streets of London during the current Palestine liberation movement. The performance is followed by a listening session exploring a selection of voice messages from revolutionaries collected from across the world. Join us as we reflect on our voices in collective struggles, connecting resonances, rhythms, and strategies across different geographies of resistance. 

Attendees are invited to bring protest songs, chants and words to share (or shout) as we apply our learnings and create new chants for the days to come.

Sami El-Enany is an artist who works with sound, fraying the edges of modern classical, electronica, storytelling and found sound. His work includes multi-channel installation, electroacoustic composition, sound design, record production and image-sound collaboration. As a musician and improvisor Sami is currently developing tape collage techniques as a tool for listening and reflection. The source material for the tapes are a scrapbook of exploratory recording sessions, off-cuts from film scores, and found sound spanning his travels as a field recordist. Sami narrates the tape collages with improvisations at the piano. Through his practice and research, Sami is delving into the sonics of solidarity, exploring sound as resonance for union.
