Al Yamaniah is delighted to invite you to celebrate the launch of its debut art magazine on Saturday, 2 March. This debut issue is dedicated to home – al dar.

Al Yamaniah magazine is a celebration of Yemeni art, talent and culture. With contributions from over 60 Yemeni women both in Yemen and abroad, this 274-page issue is the first printed publication of its kind. The magazine was brought to life by a team of Yemeni women in the diaspora and co-created by Asma Ibrahim (editor) and Asma Hamdi (creative director & designer).

Join us for an afternoon dedicated to art, culture and community. Expect homey vibes as you snack away on Abu Walad biscuits and sip warm tea, meet some of the creatives involved alongside the core team. There will be an opportunity to watch a selection of short films by Yemeni filmmakers at 2pm, before the launch event unfolds at 3:30pm. This culminates in a panel discussion at 4:15pm to delve deeper into the project, followed by a Q&A and an opportunity to purchase the magazine.

Al Yamaniah is a digital community and platform that champions the creativity of women with Yemeni heritage. We were founded by Noha (Intibint) in March 2019 and are a diaspora-led initiative that hopes to bridge the space between creatives inside and outside of Yemen.
