RSVP below for this in person event.

Join artists Mona BenyaminXaytun Ennasr and Dina Mimi for a walk through In the shade of the sun. Working across mediums that include film, installation, music and gaming, the exhibition brings together artists that are forging a new language to think about and with Palestine. Mona Benyamin, Xaytun Ennasr, and Dina Mimi will discuss their individual practices and consider the intertwined relationship of aesthetics and politics.

Ruanne Abou-Rahme and Basel Abbas will join the tour and give further insight into Bilna’es (in the negative), an adisciplinary platform that seeks to find new models for artists to redistribute resources and support one another in the production and circulation of work

About the artists

Mona Benyamin is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Haifa. In her works, she explores intergenerational outlooks on hope, trauma and questions of identity, using humour and irony as political tools of resistance and reflection.

Dina Mimi is a visual artist and filmmaker who works and lives between Jerusalem and Amsterdam. Her practice is multifaceted and uses video, sound, performance, and text, wandering around grief.

Xaytun Ennasr is an artist and interactive designer. Much of their work can be viewed through the vernacular of sci-fi folklore; and focuses on labour, decolonisation, radical softness, and intersectional revolutionary praxis.

Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme work together across a range of sound, image, text, installation and performance practices. Their practice is engaged in the intersections between performativity, political imaginaries, the body and virtuality.
