Family Fun

Join artist Mohammad Sabaaneh and Dia Batal for a Family Fun printing session at the Mosaic Rooms.

Families will be introduced to the work of master printmaker Mohammad Omar Khalil that is currently on show in the exhibition Homeland Under My Nails, and get a chance to explore printmaking using different material. The children will create mono prints with DIY and recyclable tools under the guidance of Mohammad Sabaaneh.

Mohammad Sabaaneh is a cartoonist and member of the International Cartoon Movement. His works are published in many Arabic newspapers such as Al-Haya Al-Jadeja as well as in other print media besides his first book with Saqi. In addition, Sabaaneh gave lectures about the art of caricature at universities worldwide sick as Visual Art School University in New York and Exeter University. The cartoonist won many graphics awards including the third place at the Arabic Caricature Contest in 2013.

Dia Batal is a London based Palestinian artist. She has completed her design studies in Beirut, and an MA in Design, Critical Practice at Goldsmiths College. The multidisciplinary work she produces is context specific and often enables audience to engage with it. Dia uses Arabic language and text to create artworks that echo cultural and contemporary concerns into our urban public, and private spaces.

Suitable for children aged 5+

All children must be accompanied by parents/carers throughout the session.
