Iraqi Supper Club
14/02/14
To celebrate the paperback release of The Iraqi Cookbook by our regular supper club host Lamees Ibrahim, The Mosaic Rooms are pleased to present a special Valentine’s Day Supper Club.
Our supper club series aims to celebrate the cooking and stories that surround food from the diverse Middle Eastern cultures found in London. The previous two supper clubs hosted by Lamees were sell outs! This special Valentines Day Supper Club will feature stories, discussions and demonstrations. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about and sample the authentic taste of Iraq. It will be hosted at The Mosaic Rooms, in the main gallery space which will have the evocative paintings of Iraqi artist Hanoos Hanoos on show. This unique event is a wonderful way to celebrate the day with loved ones, or to meet new people!
The Iraqi Cookbook is a rich embodiment of food, culture and storytelling. First published in 2009 to great success, the book was described by The Middle East in London as “…a cookbook that makes Iraqi cuisine accessible not only for those who grew up with its tastes and flavors, but also for those who are new to it.” Lamees Ibrahim was born in Baghdad and came to London to study, obtaining a PhD from Kings College Hospital Medical School. London has been her permanent home since 1988.
Tickets: £35 (includes a three course meal with wine).
