Palestine Book Club with Yara Hawari
Gentle/Radical Book Club
1/03/22 7pm
FreeRSVP below for this in person event. Tickets are limited, please only book if you are sure to come.
Join author Yara Hawari for the next meeting of our Palestine Book Club. We will be reading and discussing extracts from Hawari’s novella The Stone House (Hajar Press, 2021). The book is a vivid, haunting tale of intergenerational trauma and survival under Israeli occupation. It follows Mahmoud, a young Palestinian boy living in the Galilee, as he embarks on a school trip to visit the West Bank for the first time.
We look forward to gathering to read, learn, and debate in a collective and inclusive environment.
Reading materials will be sent to participants before the meeting.
This is the third meeting of our Palestine Book Club, part of the book club network set up by artist Gentle/Radical. Find out more about Gentle/Radical’s Palestine Book Club, including information and resources for setting up your own book club here.
