Play Lab Workshop | Chahine Fellahi
Family art and play session
30/05/24 2pm
FreeRSVP below for this in-person event.
Have you ever looked into a rippling pond and seen your altered reflection, the sky beyond and the deeper water beneath?
Join us for the final art and play session with artist Chahine Fellahi as part of the Play Lab intervention. This time we are thinking about how water can help us reflect, inwardly and on the world. Enjoy sensory explorations with reflective materials, mesmerising projections, soothing soundscapes and tactile wonders. You will also have the chance to make your own water-inspired artwork to take home.
Play Lab: Water Binds Us is a three-month intervention at The Mosaic Rooms, transforming one of the gallery spaces into a sensory play space for children and their accompanying grown-ups. Following this third and final workshop, the space will be opened at the weekends for continued exploration and self-led play.
Chahine Fellahi (b. 1994) is a visual artist, filmmaker and educator based between London (UK) and Casablanca (Morocco). Working across analog and digital processes, her practice harnesses film and photography as tools to explore the materiality of images and their relationship to memory.
All materials will be provided. Suitable for age 4-11 although all are welcome. Children to be accompanied by adults.
The name of this workshop was inspired by the poem ‘Who Am I, Without Exile?’ by Mahmoud Darwish.
