Radio Al Hara
Living Room Session
This event will be streamed live via The Mosaic Rooms’ facebook page.
Radio Al Hara came into being during the lockdown in Palestine. For this special Living Room Session Radio Al Hara stream three special live sets by the resident DJs Youset, Atlas and Slippery Johnson.
Radio Al Hara emerged as a communal radio project by friends Elias Anastas, Yousef Anastas, Yazan Khalili, Mothanna Hussein and Saeed Abu Jaber in a time of isolation and boredom, when the future of the world as we knew it was unknown. They broadcast music and discussions from Ramallah, Bethlehem and Amman and feature sessions from DJ’s across the globe. Its founders describe the project as ‘a way of finding freedom in these times’. It is inspired by Radio il Hai, Beirut and Radio Alhuma in Tunis, which were in turn inspired by Radio Quartiere Milano.
Yousef Anastas (Youset) is an architect and civil engineer based in Bethlehem. He is the cofounder of Local Industries, The Wonder Cabinet and Radio Alhara. He is a partner at AAU ANASTAS.
Saeed Abu Jaber (Slippery Johnson) is a graphic designer based in Amman. He is the co-founder of Turbo design studio and Radio Alhara.
Mothanna Hussein (Atlas) is a graphic designer based in Amman. He is the co-founder of Turbro design studio, Warsheh and Radio Alhara.
