Srinagar Salon: Kashmiri Afternoon Tea
In Kashmir, the ritual of tea drinking is as constant as the rising and setting of the sun. Through the changing political winds and twists and turns in the region’s history, chai has remained a constant. As a result of this, the tea culture of Kashmir is as personal to her people as traditional embroidery or Pashmina wool. That feeling of coming home to ‘Noon Chai’ (or Pink chai) and Saffron Kahwa is the quintessential Kashmiri feeling of home.
Join us for an afternoon tea inspired by the salons of Srinagar, hosted by the Kashmiri Tea House as an ode to the rich tea culture of Kashmir. Taste the flavours that you would normally only find in the quiet, cosy homes of families living in this valley nestled in the Himalayas. The afternoon will include specially selected teas, cakes and savoury nibbles.
Kashmiri Tea House is a beverage brand founded by a British-Kashmiri entrepreneur who is working to preserve her heritage and elevate the tea traditions from the living rooms of her childhood into homes everywhere.
