Taleteller Talisman, Act III
Online Workshop
27/01/22 6pm
FreeRSVP below for this online event. Tickets are limited, please only book if you are sure to come.
Join artist Jumana Emil Abboud for a talisman-creating workshop. The workshop invites the acknowledgement of the sacred within the natural landscape through storytelling and story-giving. The session will encourage the creation of personalised charms that respond to tales from participants’ individual oral history and current experiences; with particular emphasis on the natural landscape that we inhabit and that inhabits us.
Jumana Emil Abboud‘s creative practice engages with oral histories, drawing on Palestinian folklore and its integrated relationship with land and water; with the human and non-human. Abboud has participated in numerous exhibitions over the last two decades. She is currently pursuing a practice-led PhD at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL.
