Dirty Wars: The World is a Battlefield

Jeremy Scahill

14/05/13

Join us at The Mosaic Rooms as we launch Dirty Wars: The World is a Battlefield by award-winning journalist and best-selling author Jeremy Scahill.

In this story from the frontlines of the undeclared battlefields of the War on Terror, Jeremy Scahill documents the new paradigm of American war: fought far from any declared battlefield, by units that do not officially exist, in thousands of operations a month that are never publicly acknowledged.

From Afghanistan and Pakistan to Yemen, Somalia and beyond, Scahill speaks to the CIA agents, mercenaries and elite Special Operations Forces who populate the dark side of the many wars America is fighting. He goes deep into the Al Qaeda – held territory in Yemen and walks the streets of Mogadishu with CIA-backed warlords. Dirty Wars: The World is a Battlefield is a shocking expose revealing the USA’s secret foreign policy and its cover operations in ‘The War on Terror’.

Jeremy Scahill is the National Security Correspondent for The Nation magazine and one of the world’s foremost experts on privatized warfare. He is the author of the international best-seller Blackwater: The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army, published by Serpent’s Tail. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

The author will be in conversation with a special guest (tbc), followed by a Q&A and book signing. In association with Reprieve.
