Story teller Elias Matar tells a story to children

Join us for a day of art, storytelling and gardening activities in this special family event, part of Shubbak festival.

There are two sessions, in the morning artist Dia Batal leads a creative making workshop, in the afternoon artist and play therapist Elias Matar leads an interactive story telling session. In both sessions children and their families will have time to play in the garden, plant seeds and explore the current exhibition with a family activity guide.

Book your free places for you and your family. Please note, the numbers for each session are restricted to ensure social distancing is possible.

Morning

We Notice, We Collect with Dia Batal

Join artist Dia Batal to make a collective art work with other families. Dia will show how to make artworks responding to what you can notice and collect from surrounding environment, and your own life and ideas, to make part of a collaborative artwork. The workshop is inspired by the exhibition and the passion which the artists Fehras Publishing Practices have for creating archives and making artworks about them.

Afternoon

2 – 4pm

Our Story with Elias Matar

Join performer and drama therapist Elias Matar, in an interactive storytelling session. In this site specific story telling session Elias will take you on a journey round the garden and gallery of the Mosaic Rooms in a trail to discover scenes from his story, and sharing creative play, music and drama.

Activities are suitable for children aged 4-11 and their grown ups. Please book a ticket for each person in your group.

All children must be accompanied by carers throughout the session.
