“The wool chair project rethinks wool’s traditional materiality and its modern applications. Considering sustainable craft practices and generating new economies in the Palestinian context. The chair’s frame is of beech timber and fully lathed handmade; its parts are assembled using a joinery method, no staples included. Then hand-coated with natural oil. 100% Organic hand spun wool that is dyed with natural pigments. The chair is environmentally friendly throughout its manufacturing process and usage. I weave the chairs with newly patterned designs that provide sustainability and strength inspired by the traditional Palestinian Rugs.” — Lara Salous
